Education Coordinator – Aaron Pied

Aaron is the Education Coordinator and works with the team to ensure trainer development, assess the curriculum, and oversee the monitoring and evaluation for the education side of the project. He holds a BA in history from Case Western Reserve University and studied education at John Carroll University, both in Ohio, U.S.A.

Aaron was a teacher in the United States and Burkina Faso before moving to Thailand in 2007. He has a variety of experience providing training and support for organizations. Most recently, Aaron spent time working with Burmese refugees as a caseworker with IRC/OPE in Thailand and Malaysia.

I was born in Liechtenstein (a little country between Switzerland Austria) and after my study in Switzerland I have worked there as a primary teacher for three years. Sainam is one of the new Thai trainers. Her previous jobs were involved with minority groups, community development, youth group, theatre approaches to development and working in refugee camps. I love new environments and learning different approaches. Now she has decided to work with Youth Connect to connect herself with the neighbors from Burma.

Employment Coordinator – Ahe

Petchara (or Ahe) is the Employment Coordinator for Youth Connect. Ahe has come to Youth Connect with a great deal of experience in development work, including work in with hilltribes in northern Thailand.

At Youth Connect Ahe is the main point of contact with local employers. She has the responsibility to coordinate for the future internships for Youth Connect graduates.

Ahe is also the first person that Patrick has worked with who can drink more coffee than he can.

The reporter traces this tanker to the remote outposts of the world where the oil is coming from. The resulting stories are personalized from people in those locations whose lives are shaped by the money and political influence that oil brings.

Project Director – Patrick

Patrick is the project director of Youth Connect. He has been working on the border since 2002, and has had the luck and opportunity to work with several great projects and lots of wonderful people.

Youth Connect is now into its second year of operations and there are many new ideas for how we can improve our project and to grow so that we are able to provide even more opportunities for youth in the future. Coming into the second year Youth Connect will begin to work with income generation projects in order to provide a practical training ground while helping some parts of the program to become self sustaining.
